You should read a philosophy professor named Robert C. Solomon. One of his main themes after the 1980's was a kind of the shallow perversion of existentialism that self-help books were and how they were a reiteration of the American theme that anything that's bad for you is your own fault. Authenticity is a far more rich concept than autonomy is too, btw.

If you made an analysis of the series "Bojack Horseman" I would be the happiest person on this earth. The first season of this animated series came out in 2014 and the last one 4 years ago, but its gaining a lot of popularity right now. It starts off as a comedy show in the first season and then gets darker, fucked up, depressing with one of the best storylines and amazing metaphors and its probably the most important show about mental illness. I think you would love it.

I'm so glad that he understood that "they" are not "White" or anyone not "black" , although race or ethnicity was used to communicate a point, it's not actually about that. "They" are those who infiltrate black culture and manipulate the world, maybe even themselves that THEY are from Black culture and or the struggle. "they" are those who aren't real with themselves. I think the most frustrating thing about this battle has been the lack of understanding from people who thought this had ANYTHING to do with Drake being half white, rather than Drake not embracing that he's half white when it's convenient to be black, like ... In hip hop. I personally grew up around Latin, Asian and even white people who used the N word. It was accepted because they were there in the struggle right with us. Yes, that word is usually reserved for those who are black, but I would say even more it's for those who were right there in the struggle with us. And we can always tell those who aren't like "us". Hopefully that makes sense. Lastly, it's not a knock on those who aren't black or didn't struggle. It's a knock on those who pretend like they are part of the struggle to either fit in or monopolize, and or monetize off of it USING a method that is disingenuous.

I managed to stay through the moments where you called hozier's songs terrible/middle of the road/shallow/bland, and I can only guess that lacking an understanding of the Irish postcolonial/cultural/political perspective has limited your ability to engage with his work. You can just say this music isnt your vibe. Hozier's songs have always been fiercely political and critical of systems of oppression, heavily influenced by black musicians who are acknowledged throughout, he reads extremely widely (did poetry readings on IG live during the lockdowns) and his songs reflect this. I've seen your responses to some of the comments here and I hope they were able to help you reconsider your initial opinions. Also Irish (the language) is called Irish or Gaeilge, not Gaelic. Gaelic is the language family and includes Irish, Scottish Gaelic, and Manx. Generally Gaelic is used to refer to Scottish.

Proof of this (according to Kendrick) Drake is not like us however Adonis has the opportunity to be like Us. Adonis is considered by Kendrick to be one of us , he just needs guidance that Drake cannot provide however Kendrick is willing to be a mentor…..
